Alan, is that 33% off the prices you quoted here:

Quote
Just checked prices with Bothner's. These are full retail prices, so discount should still apply:
CUB8  = R2,595
CUB10 = R3,395

Indeed it is, so that should mean
CUB8  = R1,738.65
CUB10 = R2,274.65

Pretty darn good for valve amps!

Shweeeet! If not tomorrow, then latest Thursday. Gotto get there before the debit orders start rolling in ne? Now this Sterling guitars and Basses business also interests me. But I cant find too much in the line of what they go for, etc.. Sort of scouting for a bass guitar. Anyway, will give them a call in the morning. Thanks aplenty for your efforts Alan.

I'm going to try the Ray35 bass next time I'm in town - I've always wanted a Musicman Stingray (one of the all time classic basses, original design by Leo Fender), but way out of the price range I'm comfy with as a bass "faker" rather than "player". This should be a nice alternative. My all-time favourite bassist is Tony Levin, and the tone he gets from the Stingray...

And for members outside the main sentra who might also wish to partake in this fine offer? Still have to think it through, but that does look mighty tempting...

@ Alan

Do Bothners ship up to JHB, How much would the shipping be (More or Less)?

After listening how loud the cub10 is from RobK, and the review of the Cub8 by Matta, maybe I should get the Cub8, seeing that I am a bedroom guitarist, with a 9 month old son Smiley

Jean Village Music is in Centurion.

Contact the closest branch to you and speak to them about it. http://bothner.co.za/contact/

I can't speak to delivery charges, but if you get the weight from the specs on the Laney web site you can phone Speed Services and get a quote. Otherwise see what the store offers - they probably have a deal with a courier company and so may be able to get it delivered even cheaper.

Just called Jean Village Music and spoke to Ross. They are talkin 3995-00 for the Cub10. Still a pretty good deal though. Anyway, if Bothners Cape is cheaper I'll get there and get someone to collect for me.

Glad I got mine when I did then. It was the only one in stock at the shop. : )

Now my (little bit stalled) 2 X 12 cab project is going to be for this amp.

Okay okay you got me, I just picked up my Cub 8 Cheesy

Had a chat with Matta and he reckons its more bang for the buck than a Champ 600 as a starter harp amp.  Then when Ray mentioned there was stock issues it seemed like a good reason to pick it up ASAP Cheesy

I am going to order my harp mic soon and will post clips after that.

Here is a lil clip of it doing slide guitar.

http://www.box.net/shared/aacrbham52

Axe is me Squier Std Tele.  First run is neck pup, tone and volume on the amp on about 6, second run is Kinman Broadcaster Bridge pup, tone and volume a lil higher, and third and forth run is also bridge pup, tone and volume flat out.  Mic'd up with an SM58 with the grill taken off, about an inch from the amp's grill, slightly off center.
