EHX big muff usa is better than the tonewicker one, the tone wicker is very harsh. You know what fuzz I really dig is the Fuzzface, or if you want a more compact fuzz face get the mxr fuzz 108, its drop dead beautiful. For more jimi hendrix fuzz than nirvana smashing pumpkins stuff.
Also the Proco you dirty rat. GREAT pedal.

Thanks CDee for the vote of confidence.

Yes, Fuzzsilla is completed, I'm just waiting for the final PCB's. The factory is closed till Jan 10th, and then will take 3-4 weeks to deliver the goods. The other snag I ran into is that I have had to get custom pots made because I'm wanting to make sure I get the 'FUZZ' taper right, which means I need a 1K REV LOG, many/most use just a plain 1K LIN, but it doesn't feel right... I have these on order, but at this rate it will take 3 months! I may have found a workaround for this by using a different style of pot and extending the pins to make it work, I have some samples on order and will report back later...

The one benefit of doing things the way I have is that once things all fall into place it will allow for quick turn around times on both delivery as well as future projects, a painful slog to get to here, but I'm excited about the end results.

While I wait it out I've already started work on my next pedal design, a distortion/fuzz with an octave up that can be toggled in and out of circuit. Kind of a blend of various circuits, the distortion/fuzz is based upon work done by Craig Anderton, refined by Jorge Tripp from Way Huge Pedals who released a now VERY expensive 'out of print' pedal called 'The Red Lama', with a couple tweaks of course, which is inturn cascaded into a Dan Armstrong Octave Up design he called The Green Ringer, it is going to be INSANE.

I never want to build vanilla effects, it limits my market, but I'd rather turn heads than sell large volumes, all handbuilt, by me. So expect both pedals to be out withing the first quarter of 2010, just have to wait it out from here.

All of them are destined to have SIMPLE, yet rich controls, the Fuzz only has 3, the Dist/Fuzz will have 2 with a toggle, but with the designs they cover alot of territory with just those simple controls.

Cheers

Matt

Hey Vick,

Shoot me a PM with the model/make of Champ and what speaker you are looking at.

Cheers

OUCH, now you started a massive question :

It almost like saying, i want some 4 wheeled transport.

Ermm, Quad Bike ? 4X4 bakkie ? stationwagon ? coupe ? hatchback ? top fuel dragster ?

IMHO, Fuzz pedals can be devided in their 5 most basic form :

* Maestro style
* Muff style
* Fuzz Face style
* Tonebender style
* Super Fuzz style
..........................

* Modern style OTT syle = not based on previous designs (the top fuel dragsters - good for one thing only, off the 400m strip they are useless)

All (OK, 98%) of all fuzzes ever made is somehow related/based on one of these above mentioned designs/ciruits.

But by the sound of it, you want somethig that EHX can offer, i.e. a Muff style fuzz.

I have, the big box, Big Muff, Double Muff, Muff LPB1, black Russian Muff, and the green Bass Big Muff.
(also the Trifecta, 3 muffs in one box : http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&source=hp&q=trifecta+fuzz+pedal&gbv=2&aq=f&oq=&aqi= )

I love em all !

My next box is the Way Hige Swollen Pickel.
