Hey guys, here's a cool site (like Guitargeek) where they show famous guitarists and bassists rigs; what they use/have used.

I think its cool especially for people that have pedals that modulate different sound/amps (like my pod x3 live)

Check it out, may be usefull for someone

Peace

Note to anyone who suffers from GAS: Do not follow this link!

I just spent the last 2 hours reading some of my favorite guitar players rig's.
It is very intresting to see certain names poping up over and over in the FX & Amp sections.

It is also intresting to see who uses power conditioners. I assume all of them use one, but is not listed.
The tuners is also intresting, looks like Boss VS. Korg DTR Smiley

In that case 120% of the current members of this forum is at risk....... Undecided

(Gaviscon and Prozac may help....but only treats the symptoms of GAS)

I have always followed up on my favourite, and other musos gear and find most interesting. However, I'm not sure that what is shown as their gear may be ALL their gadgets, only perhaps those for which they are endorsees. EG....... On one site they have Jimi Hendrix's set-up with pedals, but Hendrix was a bit of an "electronics geek" and did lots of mods etc to some of his stuff, hence his awesome effects, (this is just an example).......but on Carlos Santana's site they go into detail on his gear, the whole carboodle, but then Carlos never did what Hendrix did and has a very easily recognizable sound/tone which hardly ever changed through the years.........just my observation.

.......also, makes it so difficult to decide what's best!  Interesting topic anyway!  Cool

I have found this site not to be very accurate in the past... Definitely not bad though

Cool, so I have one of James Hetfield's amps and a guitar that's close to the Truckster....but I've realised that even though I wouldn;t mind his Kenny Lawrence Explorers and the JH-1, I want to get my "own" gear. What I'm saying is, his stuff is his, I'll get my own. It doesn;t help that I have all his equipment trying to sound exactly like him, I'll just end up being a bad James Hetfield clone.

You hit the nail on the head mate. We cannot sound exactly like our idols, but we can try, with good gear, to get as close as possible! But creating your own sound is a helluva lot more rewarding!  Smiley

True, I also think it makes a huge difference the way I hit my strings and the way that James Hetfield hit his strings!

Don't replicate, Inavate!
