I've been keeping a eye on Wacken this year - mainly due to Megaldon representing SA (I've a vested interest, they're mixing our album when they get back  Wink)

Some great bands on a sold out festival http://www.wacken.com/en/bands/bands-billing/ - metal is alive n kicking it seems?

Megadeth, Max & Igor Cavalera, Paradise Lost, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, Apocalyptica are name I recognise from my metal daze. I reckon The Cavalera's revisintg Roots would be a personal highlight along with Megadeth.

Who knows what Europe, Ugly Kid Joe, Status Quo & Mambo Kurt are doing in this lineup though...hahaha...actually I'd be there for Ugly Kind Joe, love their tunes.

Megaldon go on at +/-1pm Wednesday, no idea if there's a live stream yet - keep a eye on WackenTv on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/wackentv/.

Really stoked with the slickness of the event : website is great, youtube channel is great, overall I reckon it's a deeply impressive production.

I have a vague hope of entering the SA Wacken comp next year - who knows, maybe there's some decent beer in our future  Cool

Damned Germans and their ernshaft.

Visited some metalhead friends in germany (long time ago). Shreddy death metal fans, Carcass, Death, Napalm Death, Deicide, etc..

The sweetest bunch of people, can't tell you the number of times we stopped an helped grannies across the road (literally!). But the look on their faces when I tried to cross the road (no traffic in sight) without waiting for the traffic lights to indicate pedestrian crossing was 'allowed'...priceless!

I wish I could be there this year. Trivium (one of my favourite bands) has just released the first single of their new album, so the show will be their new set and line-up.

Found a link to Megalodon's live set - just as they started...but the cell phone mic got lunched by the volume so it's basically video with static

Here's the link ti Wacken SA's page anyways - their live video's are on there for those interested : https://www.facebook.com/wackenmetalbattlesouthafrica/
