Soo..

I have this marshal cab that someone gave me. But I can't quite make senes of what it is. so I have posted some pics to see what you guys think.

It's a 4X12 size, however it only has 2 12's in it. On top of each other. Trying to figure out of it's worth selling it? I haven't used it in years, it's been lying under the bed at my parents house.

Thoughts?

Hey...

What is the impedance of the individual speakers? I can see the 8 ohms on the cab tag, but cant make out the actual speaker impedance.

If the cab is 8 Ohm, just check how the speakers are wired to get the individual impedance (they look to be the same type of speaker).

If it series its 4 Ohm each and parallel would be 16 Ohm each.

Looks like the baffle has been changed to turn it from a 4X12 to a 2X12. Maybe a speaker or two blew and instead of replacing them, the original owner just changed it to a 2X12. I Think those Goodmans were 8 Ohm models, but you'd have to measure the speakers to be sure. If you measure the cab DC resistance, it'll come up with approx 3/4 of the impedance, so if it measures 6 Ohm, it'll be 8 Ohm impedance.

If you're not using it, I'd say sell it off to someone who wants a cheap fixer-upper.

Hey...

From a quick browse on the net, I see that marshall did have some old 4x12 cabs loaded with those speakers in them (8ohm)...
If they are 8ohms, I'd be interested to hear what those speakers sound like hooked up to my fender bassman (been looking for a 4ohm cab that I can use in the mean time until I can afford decent speakers)...

Regards
Jeremy
