Just wanted to get opinions on the Samick SG. Anyone know them or used one?

From my experience and what I know, Samick is not bad. I have never seen or played the SG though.

Thanks Dee. TMK Samick actually make the Epiphone range. I'm just not sure of the quality of a Samick at "the bottom end of the scale" Smiley

They're decent Graham. The copy models would be older ones ('80s). As you say, they ended up making Epiphone - so they are likely of a similar quality.

Thanks Dee and Alan. I was 99% sure it was a winner, but wanted the blessing of our own grand masters before taking the plunge Smiley
Picking one up tomorrow with hard case for R1200!

Picked her up in town tonight. No pics yet, but she is a beauty! The set neck and mahogany body help her ring like hells bells Smiley
She needs a little work (unless I do the road worn thing like Fender promotes), but all in all she's in good shape. Beautiful to play and set up perfectly. Pics soon.

Sorry guys  Undecided

I offered the oke allsorts of gear as a trade, but he wanted cash in the end. Did some checking up. Made in 1992 at Samick plant in Korea. Basically an Epiphone SG400 with unbranded trem nut cover and perloidish plastic tuner levers. Got her stripped right now as she is a diiiirty gal and needs a polish.

btw the Q20 is ONLY for the bridge hardware and other chromed bits, and it's silicone free Smiley

Seeing as though I have been so slack at posting pics (or anything else) lately, I popped a few onto pichost:

Always amazes me how people don't bother giving a guitar a decent clean before trying to sell it. It's such an obvious thing to do.

Cool buy!

Just pains me to see the abuse guitars take at the coast.
