Mines in as well, is it jazz?...no. Is it blues?....no (it's kind of jazzy and bluesy)
All done with red fender copy guitar, missing top string, straight into onboard soundcard, some tapping and slide stuff at the end.

Peavey T-60 on both tracks
Going through Pocket Pod into Behringer UCA202 interface into Sony Laptop

I see I've messed up the categories this week - Majestikc wanted to be in B and Squonk wanted to be in A. I don't listen to the pieces before I post them so could you please state your category in your PM to me in future, pretty please... Cry

@ Donovan and Squonk

Yep I did mic it – it’s my Yamaha Classical with no PUs.
•   Used a Sennheiser e835 positioned 40cm away from the guitar aiming at the 12th fret. (my studio is acoustically treated and pretty dead with no standing waves)
•   The mic is plugged into a Creative X-Fi sound card which has an analogue mic input pot.
•   Capture software is Sony Vegas Pro
•   At mix, I used a gentle bass roll-off from 640Hz.
•   Used a little compression and limiting
•   Added a little delay (to create a stereo effect)
•   Finally added some reverb. (Attenuated the bass frequencies from 600Hz)

However, recording technicalities aside, I do think that the right hand technique I learned from the late great David Hewitt is the reason for the tonal quality I’m able to achieve.

That Right hand technique of yours definately sounds good.

Hey all. Thanks for the votes, but I must say I feel a bit of fraud winning this one. Evolucian asked for a rock/blues sunset and mine was classical.
Where is EVO by the way - he's conspicuous by his absence this week.
I'll soon be sending the brief for the next challenge to Rene.
