A few years ago I built myself an infrared camera that takes some unusual photos
Here's the camera along with some other Raspberry Pis:

And one of the photos:

This is sort of work related (I'm an architect) but I like to sketch- on paper and digitally:

I used to scuba dive quite a bit, still have all the kit. Just no dive buddy.

Instrument wise, as my playing time diminshed with mates moving away, band splitting etc, i turned my focus to the techincal bits, so i do setups etc, mainly on my own and friends guitars
And i also dabble in building  bit.. not pro luthier quality, but good enough for me. I found i enjoy the woodworking element of it.

I dabble in verrrrry amateurish photography..

And, hacking away in the garden

I'm heavily involved in a community theatre group in Centurion, which sometimes involves music and sound mixing for our shows.

I have a dream of getting good enough on guitar to play in a show sometime.
Funny story—I'm also in Centurion and I have the same dream Tongue

When's the next show?

We're auditioning next weekend for 'Allo 'Allo which goes on end of April. No guitar for this, it's just pure comedy. The end of year show (end November) is going to be full of music and dance and I hope to have some musicians on stage for this.

I build model ships. Currently I am busy with a model of the Batavia, a VOC ship that sank in 1628.

I spend as much of my free time as possible in the workshop, building guitars.
I am currently building a Mopane/Cedar OM and a Koa/Swiss Spruce harp guitar, having already completed one guitar with Casimi Guitars at their school of luthiery.

Lattice braced cedar top.

Cedar top resting in Mopane back and sides.

what will become a harp guitar back.

two Macassar ebony fretboards, resawn from the same piece, and tidied up a bit on the drum sander.

A harp guitar mold.

The one I have finished. Based on a Casimi C2. This is not a casimi, and students are no longer allowed to base their designs on Casimi designs.

I recently downloaded Unity and started learning to make games. I did quite a bit of software development at university, and I am picking it up quite fast. So far I am only working through their tutorials, but then fiddling and adding my own features/functionality to the games we build in the tutorials.

Then I play 5-a-side soccer weekly and also thoroughly enjoy reading.

Its on the KZN south coast, close to Port Shepstone. Its an epic break when the bank is good.
Here's another from the same session. My mate is 6ft1 if you need a height reference.

Then an older pic from just up the road, a bit deeper this time
